First Krav Maga seminar in Italy

On 21st and 22nd February 2003 the first seminar Krav Maga, Israeli system of military self-defence, took place in Palermo. It was run with great exemplifying clearness by Dr. Rony KLUGER - karate master and master teacher at the military police of Tel Aviv.

For this occasion the seminar was open to everyone, who wanted to deep their own personal security theme, not only to the private and public security operators and police forces, showing the real necessity to practise for years a martial art to be able to defend oneself effectively, opening in this way an interesting chapter and one more professional working outlet for who operates in the order services field.

The intense and demanding seminar met with the keen interest of all the participants and it took place thanks to the organization of the karate master Mario PANCI and the aikido master Pietro Romano COLONNA in the new premises of the Training Center Festina Lente, facing the wonderful Gulf of Mondello in Palermo

During this first meeting master Rony KLUGER showed the main principles of this self-defence system stressing:

• the ability to react against the stimulus moving as fast as possible
• the essentiality of answer with its efficacy thanks to the location of the four chief vital points to hit (eyes, throat, pubic zone, knees) which allow us to overcome the danger beyond the relative mass of our hypothetical adversary
• the flexibility of mind taking into consideration any object as potentially useful for our defence
• the importance of look like instrument of prevention and intimidation
