Report on the 15th Anniversary of Karate Do International in HUNGARY 1989 - 2004

On the occasion of the 15th Anniversary of the Hungarian Kushido Karate Association of Karate Do International a very high level International Training Camp and Grading Seminar was held at the St. Stephen Agricultural University of Gödöllo / HUNGARY between 19 - 26 July 2004.

Nearly 150 Karateka, 40 Black Belts (a 7th Dan Master, five 5th Dan Masters and four 4th Dan Masters) joined forces under the leadership of Dr. Rony KLUGER (ISR) - 8th Dan Kancho in a unique international training camp, celebrating the success of our Hungarian friends. The camp was a great success with participants from Australia leaded by Shihan Jonathan SANDLER (5th Dan), from South Africa leaded by Sensei Henk BLAUKENBERG (5th Dan), from England and Welsh leaded by Sensei Thomas BURCHI (4th Dan), from Belgium Francois DEMESMAKER (7th Dan), and Shihan Attila MISKOLCZI (5th Dan) leaded the celebrated Hungarian team and of course the head of the school, Dr. Rony KLUGER, Kancho leaded the huge Israeli team. The camp had a very intense daily program, 9 hours physical training and daily lectures on philosophy, the art of teaching Budo and more. The Grande finale of the camp took place in the Budapest Theatre in a very well organised special Budo Gala. All International teams executed various classical Martial Art demonstrations and a team of police officers - Kancho Rony's students - demonstrated high class Krav Maga. Prof. George POPPER, GCKM - President of IBSSA and Executive President of IBA, Dr. János MÉSZÁROS, KM (HUN) - President of the Hungarian Karate Federation and Mr. Frank PHILIPOOM, KM (NED) - Director of IBA Chamber in the Netherlands, who is also the General Secretary of IBSSA International Sport Federation (ISF), honoured the Budo Gala with their presence.

International Budo Academy (IBA) and the Middle-European Public Safety and Crime Prevention Academy signed an Agreement on Cooperation during the Budo Gala. Dr. Rony KLUGER (ISR) - Dean of IBA and Dr. Ferenc TÓTH (HUN) - Rector of the Middle-European Academy agreed to collaborate in the fields of international relations, security, crime prevention, trainings and education. IBA established its Hungarian Representation as well under the name of “Studia Humanitatis Kara” and appointed Dr. Ferenc TÓTH (HUN) to lead the Hungarian Representation of IBA.

The Budo Gala hosted the first International Budo Academy's official award ceremony of the new Faculty of Security Sciences, which was conducted under the watchful eyes of the Executive President of International Budo Academy, Prof. George POPPER. The IBA issued the following degrees

B.A. degree to

  • Mr. Ádám POPPER Director of the Central Administration of IBSSA

Ph.D. degrees to

  • Dr. Róbert HORVÁTH Advisor and expert of the Hungarian Parliament
  • General Dr. László CSEREKLEI Vice President of the Hungarian Civil Guard
  • Mr. Imre TAKÁCS fireguard lieutenant colonel

The conclusions of this high-class event and as a result of 15 years of hard and successful work Attila MISKOLCZI (5th Dan) was elevated to SHIHAN rank. Sensei Friede SHMULIK has attended the rank of 6th Dan, Csaba SZOLÁTH and Orsolya ALMÁSI elevated to 2nd Dan.
